Colonial Funeral Home is located in the city of McHenry, Illinois, which is 50 miles northwest of Chicago; 75 miles southwest of Milwaukee, WI; and 50 miles east of Rockford.  We are located on the the northwest corner of Ridgeview Drive and Bull Valley Road.

  • Take I-90 west to IL-53 north (merge right at exit ramp)
  • IL-53 to Lake Cook Road west (merge left at exit ramp)
  • Lake Cook Road west to US-12 north (turn right at light)
  • US-12 to IL-120 west (left turn at light)
  • IL-120 to Chapel Hill Road south in McHenry (left turn at light)
  • Chapel Hill Road to Charles Miller Road west (turn right at first light)
  • Charles Miller Road becomes Bull Valley Road at IL-31 (go straight thru intersection)
  • Continue to intersection of Ridgeview Drive and turn right (there is a stoplight at intersection)

From West Suburbs

  • Take I-355 north which becomes I-290 (no turns)
  • Continue on I-290 north which becomes IL-53 (no turns)
  • IL-53 to Lake Cook Road west (merge left at ext ramp)
  • Lake Cook Road west to US-12 north (turn right at light)
  • US-12 to IL-120 west (left turn at light)
  • IL-120 to Chapel Hill Road south in McHenry (left turn at light)
  • Chapel Hill Road to Charles Miller Road west (turn right at first light)
  • Charles Miller Road becomes Bull Valley Road at IL-31 (go straight thru intersection)
  • Continue to intersection of Ridgeview Drive and turn right (there is a stoplight at intersection)

From Far West Suburbs 

  • Take IL-31 north into McHenry
  • Turn west onto Bull Valley Road (turn left at light)
  • Continue to intersection of Ridgeview Drive and turn right (there is a stoplight at intersection)

From North Suburbs 

  • Take I-294 to I-94 north or start from I-94 north to IL-120 west (merge right at exit ramp)
  • Continue on IL-120 to McHenry
  • IL-120 to Chapel Hill Road south in McHenry (left turn at light)
  • Chapel Hill Road to Charles Miller Road west (turn right at first light)
  • Charles Miller Road becomes Bull Valley Road at IL-31 (go straight thru intersection)
  • Continue to intersection of Ridgeview Drive and turn right (there is a stoplight at intersection)

From Rockford

  • Take US-20 east to city of Marengo
  • US-20 to IL-23 north (turn left at light)
  • IL-23 to IL-176 east (turn right at light)
  • IL-176 heads south when it combines with IL-47 south (turn right at light)
  • IL-176 heads east while IL-47 south continues straight (turn left at light)
  • Continue on IL-176 to IL-31 north (turn hard left at light as IL-176 continues on the angled left turn)
  • IL-31 to Bull Valley Road west (turn left at light)
  • Continue to intersection of Ridgeview Drive and turn right (there is a stoplight at intersection)

From Wisconsin

  • Find a highway to reach US-12
  • Take US-12 south towards Illinois
  • On the south side of the village of Richmond, US-12 heads east west while IL-31 heads south
  • Continue straight onto IL-31 south (do not turn left onto US-12 at light)
  • In McHenry, IL-31 heads west with IL-120 west for a couple of blocks (turn right at light)
  • At next light IL-31 heads south while IL-120 continues west (turn left at light)
  • IL-31 to Bull Valley Road west (turn right at light)
  • Continue to intersection of Ridgeview Drive and turn right (there is a stoplight at intersection)
